Demelza

Our experience at Demelza was one we are so thankful for and will never forget. Demelza have a children's hospice in Eltham and we were fortunate enough to be able to take Beau there once we had left the hospital on the Monday. Beau had his own room with a cot, soft toys and chairs for family & friends to spend time with him. James and I were able to stay there full time in our own separate room for 5 days. We were fed breakfast, lunch and dinner every day. The last thing you are thinking about when you have lost a child is what you want to eat, or having to face going to a supermarket. For that, we were so grateful. We got to know Beau over those few days. To be his parents, dress him, give him a little clean up, hold him & kiss him. To tell him all the things we wanted to let him know, as is a parents job. Beau's funeral was on Friday 22nd March and so we were able to be close to him the whole time, which was so special. This service was all provided free of charge, hence why any donations to Demelza are greatly received.
